Core Interests vs Hobbies and How that Affects our Audience

In working on the web information architecture for this site, Brent and I are working with the best ways to categorize and effectively express through the site the things that we are most into.

I have decided to go two directions with it:

Core interests are of primary focus.
Hobbies are of secondary focus.

Pretty simple, but it actually means a lot to the way that we'll deliver fresh and interesting content to you! For instance, you can subscribe to our RSS feed for all things language-related and rest assured that there will be plenty of new and interesting content on that. Hence, as a subscriber, you can expect more from that feed than say, one about Brazilian jungle juice, if such a feed existed.

Thus, your expectations will vary based on how committed we are to a given topic or interest.
